Bingo, Bango, Bongo: A Fun Golf Game Guide

Looking for a golf game where shooting 100 can still beat your mate’s 72?

Welcome to Bingo, Bango, Bongo — the fast, strategic golf game where every shot can score, and low handicaps don’t guarantee the win.

Perfect for all skill levels, this format rewards timing, smart play and accuracy — not just low scores.

The Basics

Every hole has 3 points available:

• Bingo – 1 Point

• Bango – 1 Point

• Bongo – 1 Point

That’s 3 points per hole, regardless of par.

Play your normal stroke play round — but track points instead of (or alongside) gross scores.

How Points Are Won

Bingo

First player to hit the green wins the Bingo point.

It doesn’t matter how many shots it took — whoever lands on the green first gets the point.

Strategy tip:
Smashing driver isn’t always the play. On a Par 4 or 5, being slightly further back can give you the advantage of hitting onto the green first.

Bango

Once everyone is on the green, the player closest to the pin wins the Bango point.

Strategy tip:
If your opponent has already secured Bingo, do you:

Go aggressive and try to land it inside them?

Or lay up short and rely on a tight approach?

Smart decision-making is key.

Bongo

The first player to hole out wins the final point.

It doesn’t matter how many putts — first in the hole takes it.

Strategy tip:
Do you go for the glory putt to secure the point?
Or play it safe and risk losing out?

The Golden Rule

Play in correct order at all times.

The player furthest from the hole always plays first — including on the green.

This rule is essential.
Break the order, and you lose the strategic edge of the game.

Why We Love It

Works for all skill levels

No handicaps required

Rewards smart strategy over raw power

Keeps every hole competitive

Makes every shot meaningful

Even if you’re having a nightmare round, you’re always just one smart shot away from winning a point.

How to Win

At the end of 18 holes:

Add up your total points.

Highest points total wins.

Simple.

Pro Tip: Add a Twist

To raise the stakes:

Play for small match bets per point

Double points on Par 3s

Or make the final hole worth double
