HOT START TO THE GOLFING SEASON FOR TEAM AWESOME
The Royal & Awesome stable has been hot out of the blocks this season with early victories for Katy McNicoll in Scotland and Laura Kueny, across the pond in America.
Both players will be brightening up the fairways by sporting Royal & Awesome’s range of eye-catching clothing throughout the season and Team Awesome got the ball rolling when McNicoll finished in a tie for third place in the Ochoa Ladies Golf Open held in Galicia, Spain, on the Ladies European Access Tour in early May.
She then continued to keep her foot on the accelerator by claiming both titles in the Saltire Energy Championship played over Trump International and Deeside a week later to propel herself to third on the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Scottish Ladies Open Tour Order of Merit despite having missed the first two events.
Once she started her hot streak, ‘Team Awesome’ was keen to keep up the pace and Kueny earned a one-stroke victory at the Symetra Classic which took place at Raintree Country Club, North Carolina the following week.
What’s more, another notable performance from the team came when Stephen Bidne secured his place in sectional qualifying for the US Open after a solid two-over-par round of 71 and a top-five finish at the local qualifying stage held on May 13 at Oak Ridge Country Club.
